Ballet for Life war eine einzigartige Zusammenarbeit zwischen drei großen Kulturmarken: Queen, Versace und dem visionären Choreograph Maurice Béjart. Im Mittelpunkt steht der Verlust von zwei legendären Künstlern, Freddie Mercury und Jorge Donn, die beide Anfang der 90er Jahre an AIDS starben.

Queen + Bejart: Ballet for Life von Lynne Wake und Simon Lupton erzählt die Geschichte der Entstehung und des späteren Erfolgs der Kombination aus Rock und Ballett. Auf dem Archivmaterial sind Brian May und Roger Taylor, Wayne Sleep und Arlene Phillips und natürlich Freddie Mercury, Maurice Béjart, Queen und Gianni Versace zu sehen. Der Film markiert die ultimative Fusion von Queens mitreißenden, emotionalen Songs und der zeitlosen Anmut des Balletts. Es ist das erste und einzige Mal, dass ein durchgehendes Ballett mit Rockmusik kombiniert wird, wenn auch mit einigen ebenso bekannten Stücken von Mozart.
